Biography:
When she was just a puppy, Lady was bought from her kennel by a human with a smooth, deep voice and kind eyes. He took her away from the smelly kennels, only to give her a pink bow and stuff her into a box. And then, even more strangely, another smiling human opened the box. Apparently, Lady had been a "present". The woman, aptly named “Darling”, seemed elated to have a small dog in the house, and before she could bark, Darling and “Jim Dear” had given her a collar and adopted her into their family. They were the ones to name her.
Her two humans were a couple who happily loved one another, and happily loved her. Lady came to cherish and devote herself to them - her humans who cared for her, and played with her, and looked after her no matter how many cushions she ripped apart; no matter how much crockery she smashed. They called her “family”; she called them “pack”. To each party, the word meant the same thing.
Her humans were respectable people, who often went out and about, visiting their human friends, who doted on Lady as much as Jim Dear and Darling did. Lady could have walked down the street by herself, if she pleased, and people would have still recognised her. For a dog among humans, she was almost famous.
Too soon for Lady’s liking, she became distanced from her humans, and a new, unexpected arrival took her place as the family’s “gift”. Perhaps she was being unnecessarily miserable, but honestly, all the tiny human seemed to do was eat, sleep and wail, getting on her humans’ nerves. At the same time though, it made them happy. Yet whenever Lady begged for attention she was pushed aside. It just wasn’t fair.
The drooling creature was called “Baby”. While it took some time, Lady grew to adore Baby as much as she did Jim Dear and Darling. She reconciled with her "pets", and vowed to protect them all with every auburn hair on her body.
Lady never wanted for anything. Her life was not particularly adventurous or exciting, but she was content, and safe, and loved her humans more than anything. She was far too loyal to ever run off and do something silly. Lady satisfied her curious urges by making friends with other dogs in the forest, (such as Jock, Trusty, and later on, Tramp) and listening to their tales of life beyond the garden fence.
One day, her call for adventure was answered. One of her humans’ friends, an elderly crone with a hooked-over nose, took a strange disliking to Lady, and on one evening when she was babysitting, Lady had a tiny scrabble with some Siamese cats, and was unjustifiably kicked out for the night.
On the hunt for shelter, she ran into another dog in a similar situation to herself. His name was “Tramp”, and he decided to help her out. The two of them managed to find a box to hide under, and told each other about their lives. Lady found out that Tramp was both homeless and human-less, so secretly made it her mission to bring him home to her humans.
Her plan never came to fruition. On their way back to Lady’s house, the two dogs were caught up in a whirlwind of purple smoke.

Biography:
Harper was born into her lifestyle. The Harringtons are notable within Storybrooke, as they set up some of the town's major businesses. The Harringtons were crafty with their money, investing and saving it as they saw fit, meaning that their daughter would be set for life. From a young age, Harper was surrounded by greed and corruption, and never saw the downside to it.
She never knew her parents. They died in a car crash before she could walk. Instead, she was raised by her Grandmother, but when Harper was a teenager, she too passed away through natural causes, leaving the young woman alone with more money and expectations than she could deal with.
She tried to make the best of herself. She got a degree, and towed the straight and narrow line. But at some point, for some reason, Harper fell into a repetitive, destructive cycle that she couldn’t break free from.
Her life consisted of staying in bed until lunch, then rocking out of the family house in time for a hot chocolate down at Granny’s, only to get drunk at a bar until the early hours of the morning, when her long-suffering chauffeur would drive her home. Then, the routine would repeat. Occasionally Harper would bump into the mayor downtown, but apart from that, things didn’t change all that much.
